Year 9 students continue to develop their skills in their core subjects but begin to have greater scope to select a range of elective subjects. In Year 9, students are exposed to a range of opportunities within subject areas including excursions to Shrine, Vic Market, The Gordon, Deakin University and local businesses. Students also take part in the STRIVE program which has a self-development focus and culminates in a Year 9 Camp.
Students at Year 10 begin to select increasingly specialised subjects with guidance from their Pathways Coordinator and House Leaders. Students are required to complete English, Maths, Science and HAPE, but can choose other subjects which align with their interests and goals in VCE / VCE-M. Students also have the opportunity to accelerate into a Year 11 subject or choose a VET subject. Year 10 culminates in an exam period in Term 4 to prepare for the academic expectations of the senior years.
