Belmont High School ICT Policy and Managed BYOD Program

At Belmont High School, we recognize the critical role of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in education. ICT empowers students and teachers with instant access to a wealth of learning resources, whether at school or home, fostering a dynamic and enriching educational experience.

Device Requirements

To support this vision, all students starting at Belmont High School are required to have a device compatible with school-managed software. Families can select from a range of supported devices available through JB Hi-Fi Education. These devices are not purchased directly from the school but come pre-configured with all necessary software provided free of charge.

For families opting to use their own devices, the school’s IT Department offers assistance with printing, wireless connectivity, and access to essential software like Microsoft Office and the Adobe Suite. However, hardware and software support for these alternate devices may be limited.

Managed BYOD Program

We are proud to offer a Managed Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) solution designed to streamline technology use in our school. Unlike previous notebook rental programs, the Managed BYOD program allows families to purchase devices outright, which are then fully supported by our technical staff throughout their use at the school.

What is Managed BYOD?

Managed BYOD is a program where Belmont High School collaborates with a trusted supplier (JB Hi-Fi) to provide a curated selection of high-quality devices tailored to meet curriculum needs.

Purchasing through our Managed BYOD program ensures your device is pre-configured with the school’s Standard Operating Environment, including Windows 10, Microsoft Office, and curriculum-specific software.

Why Choose Managed BYOD?

  • Convenience: Devices are ready to use on the school network from day one.
  • Value: Competitive pricing negotiated by the school.
  • Support: Full technical assistance and software updates provided by the school’s IT team.
